Great Plains Weather Symposium 2014

Shit. If you're outdoors the advice is to take cover in a ditch or a culvert. That's the end of this dress.
Lightning is bad too.
Messes up your hair something awful.

The event was less exciting than in past years, though they did have a room full of television weather broadcasters letting people have a try at the green screen which was fun. The students from the entomology department were out there with exotic insects to hold (hissing cockroaches, anyone?) and the various emergency services were handing out pencils, but overall it was kind of dull. I suppose if you go every year, it all gets a bit familiar.

We hit a couple thrift stores in Lincoln, and raced back to Omaha for the last few minutes of the monthly Friends of the Library Sale. Lincoln is only about 50 miles away, but it feels like such a long trip.

Looks as though you had a laugh anyway! Cool dress, and cooler kid. Even if he is stealing your limelight, cheeky bugger. xxx
