Current in Currant

Clothes go in and out of fashion without much concern on my part-I've always dressed as I pleased, and been the better for it. This time around, the styles seem to match what I own,providing an opportunity to show the youngsters how it is (was) done. Take notes, kids.
Super-high heels don't go well with snow and ice, so rather than become a fashion martyr, find a nice pair of tall boots and tuck in your jumpsuit. No, you don't, "Look like a pirate", no matter what your husband says. Gaaaaarrr. Which one of you mateys will be first to walk the plank? Who took my parrot?
You'll want to accessorise the hell out of this look because a jumpsuit, no matter how nice the silk is a plain item of clothing. A longer coat is helpful too, if you don't want your behind hanging out there like a gigantic parachute silk. Or perhaps you do-who am I to judge? Do be aware that tucking in a silky jumpsuit (to your boots) will cause it to billow and puff, making you look a minimum of three sizes larger.
For a true 1970's experience, get an annoyingly small handbag with a chain link strap that keeps sliding off your shoulder forcing you to use it as a clutch anyway. Yeah, that bag is going away.

Accept the fact that silk on silk never stays put without pins. I must have re-adjusted the sash a dozen times. Instead, approach it like a pirate and instead focus of getting some rum, and finding out who took your goddamned parrot.

@Autumn
Thank you. This was the only pirate-ish song I could come up with besides, "Drunken Sailor."

@Beth Waltz
Thank you.
They were my mother's-we called them her "Rapper Specs" because all the rap artists were wearing Cazals in the 80's. I had them set with prescription lenses and got them tinted. They were tinted a dark brown when my mother had them, but that wouldn't work with my complexion. I held off for years wearing them but then I figured that was silly as I was still wearing her necklaces and the like. I can't wear them too often though as they are HEAVY!

Captain Jack Sparrow would run off with you for sure!! Bet he has your goddamned parrot. Not liking the idea of making myself look three sizes bigger, but like the idea of the long coat to hide the parachuting arse!

Friggin' in the Riggin' - I remember singing On The Good Ship Venus at university. Might have been a rugby song, they're usually eyewateringly crude.
