Cubs Win! Cubs Win! Cubs Win!

The devil better buy himself a nice parka because hell just got icy! I'm barely able to speak, much less type, but I wanted to mark the moment.

If anyone in Chicago would be willing to grab me a newspaper tomorrow, I'd be happy to pay for it and send you something nice for your trouble.

Who am I kidding, I won't get to sleep tonight! Hey Chicago what do you say, the Cubs Just Won today!

You sound so happy. Nice feeling is when yourTim won. My horse didn't do well at all at Melbourne Cup and I lost money. Thanks for your picture with lace jabot.I am making one ,since money are short to purchase.

Yay! I know nothing about baseball (football (what America calls soccer) is the only sport for me), but I am so glad you're delighted! There's nothing like a good win. Congratulations!!!

Hehehe, as soon as I got up and saw the news my first thought was of you. You and Harry Dresden, as I'm currently rereading the last few Dresden Files novels. (He's a wizard detective based in Chicago. Deffo not proper literature, but it really makes me want to see the city!)

@Everyone
Thank You!!!

It was a wild night, and I've been sleep deprived but walking on air all day long. Obviously, it transcends baseball, and it kills me that I can't be there tomorrow for the parade, but 500 miles is too long of a trip on short notice. I told Danny we could go in a few weeks to leave a Cubs banner on my mother's grave (she'd want us to-she lived around the corner from the ballpark)and maybe have a look around the city. I haven't been back in a VERY long time, but this victory has made me homesick (something I'd have thought impossible).

It still hasn't fully sunk in *smiles*

Do you have a newspaper lined up yet? We have contacts in Chicago and if you ask me super fast, I can maybe get someone to save one for you- i.e. before it is thrown away.
I would have e mailed you but can't find a link. JanF

@Jan Francis

The Trib or the Sun Times would be fine-I really appreciate this (everyone I knew in Chicago either moved or died).

My email is cornmotherne at yahoo dot com

Thank you!

And I say it was the hiring of the great-great-granddaughter of Marie Leveau, plus the purchase of an entire henhouse of white chickens, that turned the trick on Murphy the Goat. Them Cubs is gonna win again! Yowsah!
