How could I have forgotten those?
I understand what you man about not really missing home-I haven't been back to Chicago in over a decade, and wouldn't really want to.

@Mim
Shocking and Bandit sound like a great combination. I'd wear that. Shocking was the one thing that would power through it all, though it sounds as though Bal a Versailles would do the job.

(I layered Shocking with Bandit, when I was feeling particularly obnoxious at a previous job. Grubby *leather* knickers.)Mimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01578612522819952936noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7189165.post-69018521620996605132015-05-22T02:48:25.914-07:002015-05-22T02:48:25.914-07:00Hmmmm....Bal a Versailles' top notes (rosemary...Hmmmm....Bal a Versailles' top notes (rosemary, orange blossom, mandarin orange, cassia, jasmine, rose, neroli, bergamot, bulgarian rose and lemon) sound more Italian than French.
Real civet & musk are the only things I would think would give the 'skank' notes. Benzoin can get a bit 'urinous'.
Bal a Versailles actually reminds me of the Northern California festivals, concerts, wine tastings, & art fairs I used to go to with all the hippy chicks in full 'goddess' attire- the Russian River Jazz festival, Marin Arts fair, Renaissance faire, Grateful Dead concerts, Burning Man, the Health & Harmony festival, the Sonoma Crush etc. Clove cigarettes, the Redwood forest, incense & patchouli, sweaty unshorn armpits & legs, dreadlocks, batik & tie dye everything, Birkentstocks,a bottle of dry white wine, & the stench of skunky green doobies being smoked lurking everywhere. Strange, I don't really miss that era of my life & have no desire to even visit California. I mean I had fun at the time but.....it's just over. I do miss Sonoma weather though.
I'm afraid if I wore this my husband wouldn't let me in the house. Despite being a Sheikh he doesn't care for Arab mukhallets or attars, nor anything else 'heavy'.
(Today I'm wearing the last of my 90's Nordstrom purchase of Comptoir Sud Pacifique's Vanille Extreme with Fresh's Fig & Apricot, kind of does remind me of Spring in Sonoma- needs a hint of sharp lavender & rosemary though.)
Bibihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01558898404184063417noreply@blogger.com
