Speaking Of Grannies...

...the very young cashier at the grocer today informed me that I had received my "senior discount."

I must have looked aghast, because she quickly said:

"Oh, don't worry, you don't have to be 65-our discount starts at 55."

For a moment, I thought about letting her know that I still have a few years, but I was spending ten bucks, and the lure of saving ten cents was just too much. I shut my mouth and walked out of Sun Mart clutching my very shiny dime. I have to think that somewhere from the great beyond my friend Evelyn (who was so cheap she'd have you meet her at the lobby of the bank on Saturday for free coffee and doughnuts) is laughing uncontrollably.

I feel like an old age pensioner, if that counts for anything.

NOW GET OFF OF MY LAWN!

Aw, thanks.

Evelyn was a very dear friend, I really miss her...and I know she'd be impressed that I can out-cheapskate her.

I told my husband that if I start saving bits of string, to get me help.
