As this blog approaches a ten year anniversary, it is difficult to locate many of the older recipes in the archives. To remedy this, I'm putting together pages that you can click in the sidebar for things that are easily grouped. I'm staring with the index for Lenten/Easter baking, and the Pesach/Passover nut-free dishes as these tend to get the most traffic this time of year.
Given the number of posts on this blog, I'm sure I'll miss something, so feel free to let me know if I omitted a favourite dish.

ReplyDeleteI can get Lyle & Tate's brown sugar & 'porridge oats'.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Generously butter an 8x8 square pan (or go larger if you prefer it thinner).
ReplyDelete1/2 cup unsalted butter,
1/2 cup brown sugar,
1/4 cup Golden Syrup
generous pinch of salt
2 1/3 cups quick oats
Heat the butter, brown sugar, syrup and salt in a pan until it melts. Pour over the oats and mix well. Pat into prepared pan, bake 20-30 minutes depending on how chewy/crunchy you like it, and cool a few minutes in the pan, on a rack. With a sharp knife, cut into squares. Let cool completely in the pan. I store mine in a tin with sheets of wax paper between the layers

Oh come on, Dannypants certainly keeps up your mastery of the English language. My kids just went on a birding trip to Chitwan with a British veterinarian as a guide. Now I'm hearing things my American ears can't quite immediately grasp like 'brill', 'deffo' & 'shandy'.
As if Nepali, Hindi, Tibetan & Urdu weren't enough!

Ten years is a true milestone in the blogging community. You're a big inspiration to those who still have a few years to go before they hit double digits themselves. I'm almost at five myself and am sooo excited for the next five.
