Not bad on three hour's sleep, eh?
Tomorrow is Nebraska's Democratic caucus, so if you're in Nebraska, and want to participate you need to get there at least 30 minutes before the start time at your location. If like me, you're not a registered Democrat (I've always registered nonpartisan) you can change your registration at the caucus site-just try to get there a bit early. You do however need to be a registered voter in the state.
Obviously, I'm going to caucus for Sanders, but I want to encourage you to vote no matter the candidate you select-that's your right, and I hope you take the opportunity to exercise it.
I like Bernie, he's the American equivalent of our fantastic Jeremy Corbin, a principled left-leaning decent sort and, if he's good enough for Leonardo DiCaprio then he must be okay. xxx
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to take a pic of me in my abaya & hijab holding a sign that says: "Voting for the socialist Jew is the right thing to do! VOTE BERNIE SANDERS"
ReplyDeleteA little crude, but that's what's hip these days.
@Vix
ReplyDeleteCorbin is great-I hope he has a long future in politics.
@Bibi
I was in the store with Danny the other day and he was wearing the Sanders shirt the campaign staff gave him for helping make "get out the vote" calls (he volunteered on his own-I didn't put him up to it). So this woman was frothing, and trying to pick a fight with a kid saying, "I'm a PROUD republican, I WORK and I PAID for my college, you want a socialist to give it all to you for free! Well he's a....a...." And I *know* she was about to say, "Commie Jew" but stopped herself and stormed off. Danny was trying not to laugh because you could just feel the frustration welling up that she wanted to hurl an antisemitic remark but knew how it would look, and she resented it. You could just see her ticking things off in her head about all the people you used to be able to hurl a slur at, and and can't these days.
I did think about running after her and asking her to pay for my groceries but Danny thought she might flip out thinking I was serious.
@Bibi
ReplyDeleteOf course after the fact, I realised I should have yelled after her, "I liked Saul Alinsky too!"
You always think of the best comebacks when it is too late.
Goody
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree with your voting choice more and as for Jeremy Corbyn - I love him. A decent, principled, old time socialist.
