Brooch was purchased early 90's at now defunct department store Jordan Marsh (at Shoppers World in Framingham). I believe the top might have come from there as well. I briefly worked there before moving on to Filene's as the commute was shorter and the pay better. Both stores are long gone, and I'm...old. But hey, pretty brooch, eh?
Bonus: it’s the color scheme of the Swedish flag.

ReplyDeleteMusat be the 12 years I spent living in a small town (like 500 people, small) that was 99% Swedish rubbing off on me. I like lutefisk too ;)
Of course they're a set, they belong together. It's such a lovely blue too! I've got a whole section of brooches featuring blue stones in my collection, none as lovely as this one though! xxx
ReplyDeleteOh yes! It goes fabulously with the polo neck. I'm loving your new specs...
ReplyDeleteAll those local dept stores that have gone the way of the dodo..sigh. Oh well, I can barely even stad going to the mall now anyway.
ReplyDeleteThat star is gorgeous!- I used to collect star jewelry.
fabulous deep blue "set"!!!
ReplyDeletetalking about gone things.... "we" here lost a whole country. it was not the very best of home countries, but loosin´ it within a year almost without a trace made a lot of people very sick......
thank goodness me not - having making home in myself long before.

ReplyDeleteI'm sure they are every bit as nice if not nicer!
@Veronica
Thank you. I am enjoying being able to see again!
@Bibi
Did you keep any of it? I'd love to see you post some of your collection.
@Beate
That must have been traumatic for many people.
@Vix
You know I can't resist flashy ;)
A very good set, such lovely blue. I like the little pearls, too. And your earrings.
ReplyDeleteLike wearing a fragment of a stained glass window...lovely!
ReplyDeleteI really liked that one when you put it on Instagram. It's the square stones, they're something a bit different.
ReplyDelete@Mim
ReplyDeleteThank you. You're right-square stones are uncommon though I have no idea if that was what attracted me to it. Probably just was overwhelmed by shiny things!
