Strike a Pose

Ever notice you favour certain poses in photographs? This is clearly one I employ regularly as it permits a close-up whilst fitting most of my body into the picture. I achieve this by propping my phone against a mug on my dining room table, and using the timer. I like how it makes me look a little like a giraffe with an oversized head!
Sometimes it comes across less giraffe, and more, "Mummy needs a word with you."
Or a contortionist.
Mod attic ghost.
Hunchbacked flapper.
Towering librarian.
Holding up the wall.
Looking at you, and thinking stuff.
Thinkin' stuff with my big head.
Towering over man and beast like Godzilla.
Or Mothra. You get the idea.
You could say I'm in a bit of a pose rut.
Or lacking in imagination.
I prefer to let the clothes be the focus.

Even if my big head tends to get in the way.
At least you can see my earrings.
And let's face it, my earring collection is probably better than my clothing.
What about you? Have a favourite pose?

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes. I am doing much, much better. I hope you'll pardon the photo heavy post as I don't quite feel like I have my writing voice back 100%. I'll get there. I have some perfume reviews coming up. I recently purchased a 1970s bottle of Estee Lauder Aliage. Oh, the memories in that nuclear grade fragrance! Anyway, something to look forward to.

  1. The Towering Librarian is giving me flashbacks.

    Delighted to see your coordinating of separates and accessories mojo has returned with vigor! I am particularly admiring the golden goodies in Thinking -- and wondering what is that flash of blue on the skirt/slacks?

  3. Well, I love your clothes collection AND your earring collection!
    (I envy your styling abilities too!)
    I'm still experimenting with full length poses - the angled pose with one shoulder up towards the camera seems a must if your boobs are over a D cup.

  4. Phew, so glad you're feeling so much better, Goody. And that even if your writing voice isn't fully back yet, you haven't lost your sense of humour! Or your marvellous sense of style and excellent accessorizing! I haven't really got a favourite pose, unless it's the hand on hip one, or if I'm feeling inspired, the let's do something silly one. xxx

  6. Wonderful, wonderful outfits. And accessories. And earrings. I love both your clothes collection and your earrings/bangles/brooches/necklaces collection. You are looking totally fabulous in your 'focus on the clothes (and accessories)' pose. I bought a phone camera tripod for £15.00 on Amazon and it has been an interesting time learning how to take my own photos and crop them, too!

    So glad to hear you are feeling better.

    I was in a department store the other day and had a quick squirt of 'Cinnabar' - wow what a lot of memories that brought about and I never even wore it!

    Hope your week is going well.
    xxxx

  8. "Towering librarian!" What a great description. And "thinking things with big head." And what great earrings and hair, especially those lavender floral earrings with the tassels---they are very eye-catching. I love your outfit posts, and your humor.

    Keep feeling better, please! It's good to see you back on your blog already.

  9. Brilliant poses, each and every one.
    Mine are usually looking a bit demented with my hand on my hip - hoping that Jon hasn't forgotten to tell me that my skirt's tucked in my knickers or I've got lipstick on my teeth. x

    I have no idea where the blue came from-must have been a shadow from something. Phone cameras are quirky!

    @Amy
    Thank you. For someone I've never met, you sure do get me.

    @Bibi
    I'll have to try that pose!

    @Ann
    Silly poses are wondereful.

    @Beate
    Thank you. I LOVE your poses!

    @Veronica
    I'll be interested to hear how the tripod works. Cinnabar-whoa, that was some strong stuff! I'm glad to hear it hasn't been reformulated as so many of the older ones were.

    @Emily
    Thank you. I really was lucky.

    @Mrs Rat
    Thank you! I try not to take myself too seriously.

    @Vix
    I like your photos-you always look like you're off somewhere exciting.

    @Senora Allnut
    Thank you. I was very lucky-it could have been so much worse.

    @Ratnamurti
    Thank you! Beautiful is such a lovely perfume.

  13. Just getting caught up after vacation so I am late with a comment. I do have a pose apparently, I never noticed it but other people have said that I tilt my head in photographs!
    I love your multi-coloured skirt with the elephants around the bottom and the skirt with the tulips on, both of which I enjoy wearing. I think the red dress with blue (and white on the front) is the one I like best on you, it suits you very well.
    So glad you are feeling better. A fall so often changes a life, it certainly would at my age! We are trying hard to remember to use every railing available.
