December shit, another month spun by without my posting! I have an excuse though. After my last computer died I bought a new one that unfortunately cannot read the images on my phone. What’s a blog without photos?! So now I have downloaded an app for the phone. I am trying it out to see how this works. It isn’t perfect but maybe it will do for now.
Danny had his 15th birthday. I baked him a Chicago Cubs cake with the MLB trophy on top. It is a bit lopsided but I’m so pleased with how the fondant ivy came out. This was my first attempt working with the stuff.
Buying him a giant inflatable hammer seemed like a good idea at the moment but I didn’t think about all the glass on the Christmas tree! So far there haven’t been any casualties.
How about a few holiday outfit snaps?
And that’s about it for seasonally festive attire.

I want to thank everyone for your lovely cards, email, and texts. This has been a hell of a difficult run the past couple months and knowing I have great friends to see me through it has been a great comfort.

Let’s see how posting from the phone works out and with any luck maybe I can get back to a regular schedule here. Seasons Greetings to everyone!

I'm so glad to connect with you on IG, as I would definitely have missed your blog posts otherwise. But it's still nice to see you blogging, so I do hope it works out fine with your phone app. Danny's cake is a triumph, and how hilarious is that inflatable hammer? A great round-up of your festive outfits. You do suit red, and that furry headpiece is gorgeous! xxx

Wishing you and your family a lovely Christmas and a much better year ahead. I am so sorry you have had so many health problems - I hope they can be resolved as much as possible and you have a very happy and healthy 2020. I love all your wonderful Christmas outfits - they give me lots of inspiration, although I am usually dressing for 30+ degrees celcius (We broke maximum temperatures for December twice last week).Love and best wishes, Alli (Canberra Australia)

Happy s you & yours!
The pics look great!
Love your outfits, especially the Ruth Bade Ginsburg one (black with the brooch, stained glass pussy-bow blouse, and sensible handbag).
The birthday cake looks amazing!
I have dealt with the reverse problem with photos. A Samsung phone with an iMac- have to find an interface that worked to transfer photos from the Samsung to the Apple, I did but it is SLOW.
I thought you'd be baking all those lovely Xmas cookies too?
Cheers to a New Year!

That Nordic Night blue jacket! And the velvet polo and slacks beneath are exactly right in tone and texture! All hail Mme. ETB, empress of mix-and-match ensembles! (Remind me to send you the blue velvet gloves I discovered inside a vintage evening bag.)

Happy birthday to Danny! The cake turned out so well and I am so glad you saved a photo of it to remember it by. I bet it was as delicious as it was beautiful.

Danny would make a very fine strongman for a circus with his giant mallet. The photo also reminds me of how a young Christopher Radko got into the Christmas ornament business. According to legend, he accidentally broke 2,000 (!) vintage ornaments by trying to move his parents' Christmas tree from one holder to another, LOL.

Wishing you all the best for 2020. As I like to say, the Roaring Twenties are back!

I have enjoyed seeing your outfit posts on IG! To be honest I haven't been in blogland myself in recent weeks. Sometimes life really gets in the way. Here's hoping we do both get back to regular schedules in the new year.

Thank you. The problem with Instagram is that it is so easy. Still, I'd like to keep in touch with people that understandably don't want to get an Insta account.

I have been thinking of you during this horrible fire season you're having. Stay safe and well.

I came downstairs one morning and my kid blurted out, "RBG!" I get that a LOT when I wear my hair pulled back. I don't mind though, it is a great compliment! I hope the new year sees you feeling better. Don't know if you've had your surgery yet but sending you good thoughts.

Thank you. I hope you had a nice holiday and a happy New Year.

I have all these clothes so it would be criminal not to wear them. I did miss quite a bit this year but ugh, it was a slog. Hope you had a lovely Christmas and sending you wishes for a happy New Year.

Happy Birthday to you also! Hope you have a great New Year.

I was going to pack away all the sequins and velvet after New Years, but now I'm thinking maybe 2020 needs to start with some sparkle. Hope you had a lovely Christmas and a great new year.

It was a hammer-heavy holiday. I bought him a Victorian era toffee hammer as well. I mean, yes it is overkill for a Skor bar but loads of fun and historical. Hoping you have a great 2020!

@Miss Magpie
Thank you. I hope you have a great 2020!

Yes! Maybe 2020 will be the year of having something to say.
