Oooh I like your new header and yes to holiday homes for pottery collection storage. The "thing" is probably too old and small to be a plastic carrier bag-holder, hmmmmmm can't think of what it could be! xo
I vote collar stay.
For just a buck, it would be rude not to. I've taken to hiding stuff and then I find stuff I forgot I had and it's like I went shopping all over again!
I do love a good mystery. Eventually someone will know what it is.

Good luck with the holiday property plan, it sounds like a good plan. I'm sure if Mr NMDS and I could afford two properties, his would be minimalist with very little in it and mine would be shabby chic with all my charity shop/car boot treasures in it.
