Embroidered Polyester

 Polyester weather is here at last, and I'm celebrating with my favourite 70's colour combination of cranberry and pink ( I knew there was a reason I bought pink tights).

 This hideous jacket was, according to the label custom made by Marshall Rousso who has boutiques in  Las Vegas hotels/Casinos. As tackiness goes, I consider it an achievement-though by Vegas standards in the 70's, perhaps it was less impressive. I can't recall ever seeing embroidered Dacron Polyester this elaborate. I'm not really a gambler, but I have an overwhelming desire to go shove quarters into slot machines in Council Bluffs.

 As we snapped photos, the police helicopter kept circling overhead. I thought perhaps they wanted a better look at my magnificently ugly jacket, but Danny reckons someone probably robbed a liquor store.

I'll, "Sit like a lady" when I damn well feel like it...and I don't feel like it. Maybe tomorrow.

I always like when someone stand out from the crowd and you always manage with your style and class. Next Tuesday we have here Melbourne Cup and it is Public holiday.I am trying my best to look presentable at least.Hopefully I will win some money.

I think you're absolutely right about the pink tights - between cranberry boots and cranberry skirt they're just right. I can't imagine too many other applications for them. That jacket belongs to that fascinating class of things: "I can't believe somebody actually thought of this and even followed through to finished product!"

Well they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't think that jacket is ugly in the slightest, I'd have snaffled that in the blink of an eye.
Loving the colour combo.
Arghhh, police helicopters kept me awake for most of last night, that's been Jon coughing his lung up and the cat insisting on sleeping on my pillow and slapping me around the face every time I attempted to move. xxx

@Hope
I'm sure you'll look lovely. Good luck with your bets.

@Radostin
Maybe I need a pink leotard so I can be a bunny at Easter-the tights would work for that. Be one heck of a frightening bunny though.

@Vix
Wow, that's a long-lived cold. Hope Jon is better soon.

I definitely sure that the helicopter was coming to take a closer look at your outfit! That dress is magnificent! I am a big fan of mixing that wine color and pink together! Looks fantastic! As for that jacket I really do kind of like it! :)

That jacket looks like a rather tame Nudie Cohn creation. I always wanted a Nudie Cohn rhinestone cowgirl outfit.
I find the cranberry dress with white piping the most hideous part of your ensemble (in the most 70's polyester fabulous way.)
Oh my. Balahe? An 80's oriental with that outfit? Zowie!

@Bibi
I'd wear Balahe with anything-I adore it! Completely out of character for my tastes, but oh god, I love that perfume. Strange, eh? I wonder if menopause is messing with my nose?

Like Vix, I don't think the jacket is all that ugly. Believe me, I have seen far uglier things when I visited the vintage shop here during lunch break. I love the cranberry dress and certainly approve of it being combined with pink tight. I've got pink tights somewhere, but I'm not sure if I ever wore them. Maybe I should look out for a cranberry dress now ... xxx

The jacket, boots and tights together look very Emma Peel. With the jacket... definitely not Our Em!

@Ann
Ugly is definitely in the eye of the beholder.
I wish I could visit your vintage shops-you always find the most wonderful things.

@Veronica
Thank you. I wasn't sure about the combination at first, but I'm encouraged you like it.

@Mim
Ha! I do have a white leather mod jacket packed away somewhere-that would have worked for the full Emma look. Perhaps next time.
