Great idea. "Duh!" indeed! Though, I love doing the old stovetop method: bit of oil in the pot, add corn and heat. Shaking while it pops. I love the sound and smell of it popping, and watching the lid start to get pushed off from too much popped in the pot (*if* I have good fresh corn kernels; old corn just doesn't pop). Then I eat it right outta the pot. Salt only for me.
Agreed. I can't really eat air popped corn as it is just too tough for my poor old teeth, but the stuff with oil in a pot isa great.
I am interested to see if I can devise some sort of lower-fat caramel corn using this method. The calories saved in the popcorn can be made up for with a stick of butter in the coating ;)
