...all the birds are leaving. Well, the purple martins anyway.
If you're in the Omaha area, or willing to make the drive, it really is a spectacular sight. We went this evening and sat right beside a cluster of trees watching the birds fly in. I'm pleased to report not a single bit of bird poop landed on us. We did have a few feathers come floating downward, but with that many birds, we're counting ourselves fortunate.
I only saw one other family, which was sad-but many middle aged couples were standing about holding hands, watching birds. I thought that was sweet.
Better hurry though, another week or so, and they'll be heading South.
