Pendelton Turnaround Skirt

 Not the original Turnaround skirt from the 50's, but a re-issue from 2013. I was lucky enough to snag this at Thrift World for .98 cents.
I would have preferred this a size larger. I'm wearing the size 8 and a 10 would be more comfortable. I can (sort of) breathe and all, but thrifting sometimes means making due with what you get. My weight fluctuates, so I'm sure at some point it will fit more comfortably. I'd like it longer as well (mid-calf would be great) but now I'm just being picky.
The skirt is reversible with similar tones on the reverse (more grey than blue). You can read a bit more about it here: http://blog.pendleton-usa.com/2013/11/06/the-turnabout-pendletons-reversible-skirt-for-2013/

I should really stop posing with the sun in my eyes.

And on the cookery front-I cooked Herman. Danny shot video of the whole ordeal from frying Herman to making pasta. I'll see if we can get part of it uploaded for the entertainment value of my Chicago accent making a lasagna. This should feed them both for several days, so it was worth the Three hours it took to make. Fried aubergine, fresh pasta, cheese filling...thank god I had the smarts to make the sauce yesterday.
The plant has several more flowers on it, so hopefully there will be a Henry, Horace, and Horatio in our future.

Are all aubergines male? I guess they might be, given the shape... Anyway, Herman has gone to a better place, and I'm sure the marathon cooking session was worth it.
Now, I reckon that skirt is just the right length, if you don't mind me disagreeing with you for a moment - you have fabulous legs, and knee length looks great on you. Go shorter, maybe! I like the idea of anything reversible, you're getting more for your money, aren't you? And I love the pleats and the colour. xxx

@Sue
I should point out that in the US we have, "Vanity sizing" as evidenced by the 1970's flares I'm wearing today marked 14. They're tight. Pendelton isn't even the worst offender with modern sizing-I have some skirts marked,4 which I most certainly am not!!Most of the time I have to pull the tapemeasure from my purse when shopping as I can't go by size.

@Curtise

I don't know why they're all male, good question!

They really liked the lasagna, but I am dead today for it. On the bright side, they can eat it day after day, so Mama is having a lie-down.

Must go back because I totally missed the Herman segment or my alzheimer's has finally set in. Please let Herman be a spice:) And, on the fashion front... love this look, you are thrift shop gypsy queen:)
