Suits You to a Tweed

Better tweed than twee, as I always say.
Joanna of Dividing Vintage Moments http://dividingmoments.blogspot.com/2014/10/lilli-ann-suit-journey-part-i.html has a lovely post on vintage suits-and you get to see one of her gorgeous Lilli Ann pieces. It got me thinking, "Hey I have suits I never wear", so I resolved to get them out of mothballs and onto the blog. I haven't tried any of the classic modeling poses yet unless you count, "Selfie in the bathroom mirror" as a legitimate pose.
Completely off topic-I took a walk last evening to try out the new camera at dusk. This is looking out from the parking lot of Methodist College in the direction of Dodge Street. The street lamps were just coming on, and the reflection of the sunset in the glass of the buildings made for an interesting shot. I still don't have a good handle on how to use the camera, but I'm getting there. It was a nice evening for a walk anyway.
I was at Hobby Lobby earlier in the week, where you can get anything you could possibly want (except birth control- http://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/01/us/hobby-lobby-case-supreme-court-contraception.html?_r=0) and I found this adorable cuckoo clock for a dollhouse. I affixed a pin back to it and now have the cutest little pin that seems to go with everything. The dollhouse section of the craft store is just full of jewelry potential. The clocks would make bitchin' cufflinks.
Poor old hat! The netting has had it, and I really ought to replace it. I'd like to do a contrast colour on the netting but nothing really goes with beige. Maybe grey?

This is the last weekend for our farmer's market. I haven't gone a single time this year, so maybe I'll wake the kid up early and force him to go with me. Left to my own laziness it isn't all that attractive getting up early on a Saturday morning. I was a, "morning person" most of my life, so I rather think I've earned the luxury of sleeping-in. Once the time-change comes I'll fall into a more normal pattern, but now it is so dark, and cold in the mornings getting up is an effort.
Having clothes you look forward to wearing is a helpful motivation though. It will be a long winter-I suggest you stock-up!

Oh this is awesome! I am so happy you decided to wear a suit. I love all your accessories and they match so well...give yourself two big shoulder kisses:) The hat is perfectly 50s in style. You brought a smile to my evening with your fabulous look:) I love your purse. It's still got the clout of I'll knock you over the head if you misbehave and something you'd see in Vogue.

I just looked up at your top image. You are a riot:)

You can't beat a good suit, especially a tweed one. Yours looks fantastic.

I'm so glad all my contraception is free on the NHS... Makes life so much easier.
