Showing Library Patrons Where They Can Stick Their Books

Greetings from another branch of the Omaha Public Library with an exciting red wall in the lobby. This week, I'm at the Millard branch standing by the book return in the lobby. Unlike the red wall at the branch on 90th and Fort streets, this one has red walls all around the lobby. Something makes me think they ran out of, "Library Red" paint and couldn't finish the job. Swanson, at 90th and Dodge doesn't even have a red wall, but they have 60's architecture so they don't really require a red wall.
Unlike other branches, Millard has separate drop slots for books, and media materials. Nice!
I haven't arrived at the point where I deliberately coordinate my outfits with the library decor-but when it works out this nicely, I feel compelled to get photographs.

The outfit worked OK in natural light as well.

I have such a love/hate relationship with red. I know it suits me, but I just detest it. Go figure. Sort of like eating yoghurt-I know it is good for me but...blech.
Sunny day-can you tell? I was determined to enjoy it as we have two days of ice-storms and high winds headed in our direction.
 Outfit Particulars:

Dress-Goodwill .99 cents
Tights-Walgreen's
Coat-New Life Thrift
Bolero Jacket-Goodwill
Bangles-mostly Goodwill and Thrift World
Necklace-K Mart
60's Earrings-Hand-Me-Ups
Rings-Here and There
Crazy high platform sandals-K Mart
Brooches (Niello Neptune-Goodwill, Frog-Hand-Me-Ups, Seahorse-Hot Shops)
1970's snakeskin and lucite Ronora handbag-Thrift World
Lippy-Revlon, Love That Red
Fragrance-Worth, Dans le Nuit (a lovely violet fragrance that unfortunately does not last very long. Sad face, because I do love it. Must find EDP!).

Anticipating more time at home with bad weather ahead, I checked out more documentaries from the library. I think Danny will enjoy The Yes Men. Also picked up a documentary about Frida Kahlo. That ought to keep us occupied for a bit. We're still slogging through the Middle Ages, but we have the Black Death coming up, so that ought to keep school exciting.

We had a certain squirrel standing and peering through the sliding glass door this morning. Danny swears he heard him tapping at the glass. Heavens, what next?

I hope everyone has a wonderful week.
Forget the raptor-look at that blue sky!

Looooooooooove that outfit, and you do suit red. Cute shrug jacket under the coat. Co ordinating ones clothing with a wall is a super idea. Yay for a bit of sunshine!!

Your courage in wearing bright tights (a la Helga) is more than justified by the bravura brilliance of this ensemble! It blends with the red wall -- it would shriek at plain vanilla.

That is the nicest 99c dress ever scored, Goody. And this is the only dress that I've ever seen that could carry the weight of the chunky floral necklaces now so fashionable.

Enjoy the sunshine while you may! We've just had a break in the weather, the farmer with a front-end loader just cleared my drive, and it's fill the feeders time here on the frozen tundra. Everything but yaks...

Dans la Nuit by Worth c1924-
Top notes of camellia, blackcurrant and berries
Heart notes of jasmine, rose, tuberose and iris
Base notes of orris, ambergris, musk, cistus labdanum, vetiver and sandalwood.
Really an aldehydic floral.
Sounds like something I'd like too, if the tuberose isn't too overbearing.
Looking fab in red !!!

@Sue
I don't know what I'll do when the shrug wears out-it is my go-to jacket for sleeveless dresses.

@Beth Waltz
Make sure the farmer hangs around because you'll need him to use the tractor and a chain to pull you out of the mud when it all thaws. I do NOT miss country living. AT ALL ;)

Helga will always be the goddess of bright tights-I worship at the altar of her fashion sense.

@ Bibi
Funny thing is, all I smell is violets, which I love so it is no big deal, but it almost reminds me of that violet C Howards chewing gum from years ago.

What a great colorful outfit to wear in the middle of winter. I need to take cues from you. I also very much love the bangles you are wearing. I have been searching out some bamboo theme'd bracelets but haven't yet bought one. I love the look. I also see the hint of 50s in your outfit, which I love:)

So what's the problem with red? You look really wonderful in it, so get over that dislike immediately! The frock is a beauty - look at that print - and I love the vibrancy.
Watch out for Blondin, he wants to move in... xxx

Red looks good on you. That said, I know there are colours that suit me and I prefer to wear others, what you're comnfortable with matters more than what other people like.

They had to dig through a London plague pit recently as part of the Crossrail project. Some of those pits can be really dense; one London Underground line has a kink in it where the builders decided digging through tightly-packed bone was too much hard work!
